What’s the Sea ever done for us?

24th June 2014
Seafarers bring up to 95 percent of goods into the UK, from the clothes we wear to the foods we eat. There is no denying the vital role they play in our economy and our daily lives.
Shipping and sea trade remains crucial and to coincide with Seafarers Awareness Week, a group of pupils from the Mountbatten School in Romsey, Hampshire, decided to make a short film about the sea and seafarers at the port of Southampton.
The film shows the day-to-day workings of the port, with cruise ships, containers, bulk carriers and car transporters.
The film was commissioned by Seafarers UK to mark Seafarers Awareness Week which runs from 21 to 29 June this year - and was wholly-funded by the Maritime Educational Foundation

It’s a brilliant video. Follow this link to watch it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VJy1SIjv30
