To coincide with The Day of the Seafarer, AoS held a reception onboard the HMS Wellington, berthed at Victoria Embankment, RIver Thames. The reception was held on the eve of the official celebrations and was a chance for the AoS office team, trustees and many AoS chaplains to get together with supporting corporate partners and other supporters of AoS' work.
The reception kicked off with welcome drinks, after which a short presentation was held updated everyone on current work being undertaken by AoS. It was also a chance for people who may not have already seen it, to watch an excerpt from the BBC programme Sea City which featured our Southampton port chaplain, Deacon Roger Stone. The reception concluded with drinks and canapes on the quaterdeck with an amazing view of the Thames and the London riverside.
We would like to thank everyone who came and gave their time to make the reception a success. We would also like to thank The Honourable Company of Master Mariners who allowed us to use the HMS Wellington as our venue. More photos of the reception can be found on our Facebook site.
