AoS Bristol assists hospitalised seafarer
07th March 2017
Our Bristol port chaplain Fr Noel Mullin was recently alerted to the presence of an injured seafarer in hospital in Bristol by AoS in Plymouth. We rely on voluntary contributions to sustain our work. Please make a donation today and help us continue our work supporting seafarers
An accident had occurred on board a general cargo ship off Plymouth, leaving a crew member injured. After being brought ashore, the seafarer was transferred to Bristol for treatment.
On being alerted by AoS Plymouth, AoS Bristol was able to visit the seafarer in hospital and offer support before the man was discharged and repatriated.
They brought him small gifts (fruit and cake, toothpaste and contact information). He was discharged from hospital to be taken directly to the airport for a flight home not long after.
Well done Fr Noel and our AoS Bristol and AoS Plymouth teams!
